About freshwater pearls
Freshwater pearls are cultivated in the mussel Hyriopsis cumingi and are more affordable than saltwater pearls. They are widely used in jewellery and usually range in size from about 2–9 mm.
Pearls naturally occur in tones of white, cream and pink – from soft peach to light lavender. Grey and black shades are achieved through dyeing.
Common shapes include round, oval, baroque, teardrop and button. The round pearl is the rarest shape and therefore also the most valuable.
Jewelry care
Our pearl jewelry consists of cultured freshwater pearls with chains and clasps in 925 silver.
To keep your pearl jewelry looking beautiful for longer:
- Remove the jewelry when showering, exercising, and swimming.
- Avoid perfume, hairspray, and skin cream coming into direct contact with the pearls.
- Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth – do not use cleaning agents.
